Ministry of Tourism establishes Tourism Information Centers in Dhofar

As part of the Ministry of Tourism’s (MoT) preparations for the Khareef season, a number of Tourism Information Centers have been set-up for the convenience of visitors and tourists throughout the Dhofar governorate. Both temporary and permanent - the centers are located at airports, malls, and the Municipal Entertainment Center in Dhofar.

The information centers have been established by the MoT with the aim of providing tourists, as well as visitors with important information regarding tourism attractions, the services provided in the region as well as safety guidelines.

Key information regarding the Dhofar governorate is provided in the form of maps, brochures, and guidelines at the centers. The Information Centers also provide specific information related to tourism services, fuel-filling stations, hotels, and archeological sites.
A highly trained team of Tourism professionals from the Ministry are deputed at the Information Centers to help tourists understand important tourism-related aspects such as appropriate dress-code, terms and conditions of photography, and keeping the environment and tourism facilities around the region clean. The Ministry staff also help visitors and tourists with their accommodation bookings, travel routes and other important on-ground services; while constantly seeking their feedback and suggestions to better improve the quality of services in the region.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Tourism has established Tourism Information Centers in Hurait mountain point (between Thumrait and Salalah), Wadi Al Jazi, Hufait, Tiwi Al Sa’ada in Jabal Al Akhdhar, Salalah Tourism Festival, Salalah International Airport, Salalah Grand Mall, and has also established electronic information kiosks (English and Arabic) in a couple of places around the region.

The Ministry of Tourism has made enormous efforts to promote the Khareef season in Dhofar this summer, and has organized several television reports and awareness campaigns on the Ministry’s several social media platforms.
A number of advertisements have also been published about the Khareef season and several other locations in Oman that provide a cool and refreshing climate. With the goal of attracting more tourists to the region - a promotional video has also been made live on the Ministry’s social media platforms, that depicts the amount of rain witnessed in the Dhofar region, as well as states the temperatures of the region during summer.
The Ministry has also published a leaflet to help acquaint tourists and visitors to the Governorate better. The leaflet has 6 sections presented in an attractive design that provides tourists with important information and guidelines to make their stay in the governorate a pleasant one.
The leaflet contains general information about Dhofar and the Khareef season, as well as details mountains, beaches and beautiful landscapes of the region.
